Cedar Valley Nature Trail Paving Progress:
Due to good weather and asphalt application in one “lift”, the paving of the Cedar Valley Nature Trail is ahead of schedule. By the end of May, the trail will be paved from Schultz Rd. (Mile 10) to Lafayette (Mile 7). The existing metal culverts at Lafayette were removed and the installation of a new concrete culvert is underway. At Lafayette, the paving project will be 40% complete. Even though this section is paved, trail users are reminded that the trail is still closed as workers complete periphery work. Please respect and obey the barricades and posted signage. With the current weather conditions, the CVNT could be open before the end of summer.

This paving progress is good news. We are very much looking forward to riding on the CVNT again when this work is completed. Such improvements make Linn Co. residents & visitors happy trail users! All of us appreciate the visable signs of good planning & funding.
I have ridden the trail north form Hiawatha to Schultz Road many times now and truly love it. It has been a great ipnmovemert to CR’s north-side area. The 10.25 miles strech is smooth, in great shape and has minimal road crossings all combining to make it a great ride. I’m looking forward to it continuing onto Center Point and beyond someday. The trail is definitely being well used. No matter when I ride I see many others out there enjoying the trail too. Even on the recent blustery days there have been many trail users. It’s so nice to not have to drive to the south side of town or ride through the center of town in order have access to a nice stretch of safe pavement allowing for a high speed ride. Thanks
